Session Summary: The purpose of this workshop is to increase the frequency and quality of the feedback provided by leaders. We will accomplish this by identifying the barriers (mindset) and providing the necessary tools and resources to provide feedback and create accountabilities.

Gap Analysis: There is a Confidence gap.  Confidence is defined as when all of your skills and attention are focused on one particular matter. High performing teams exhibit increased levels of anabolic energy and overall display less catabolic energy.  Self-doubt is by definition catabolic.  When employees are uncertain of how they are doing relative to performance goals, there is a productivity loss.  Leaders can be uncomfortable having conversations with team members based on catabolic thoughts like: “I do not want to hurt their feelings” or “They have so much on their plate already”. Those thoughts may get in the way of people showing up as the best versions of themselves and may cause unintended damage to the people on the team because they are spending time wondering how they are doing.

Prework – Bring these lists to the workshop: Come prepared to discuss specific examples of opportunities to provide feedback.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

·       Identify mutually agreed upon performance goals

·       Provide actionable feedback on current performance

·       Use coaching skills to support closing the performance gap(s)
